Our next stop was Vigan. The girls bought ingredients for the dinner we were to have in Pagudpud. Vigan was just so quaint and rustic. It was a combination of the past merged with progress of today. The calesa and cobbled streets were side by side with the cell site towers of the cell phone technology. Old churches with the McDos.

Sylvia and Fe took the calesa around town with Tato acting as mamang cuchero. Rey was busy sorting out the longanizas from the rice cakes.  Joey and his son roamed the cobbled-stone streets while Tong and his children were busy checking out the empanadas and the bibingkas. Bodeng was, of course, searching for stores selling beers. Abet as standing guard and looking for a shaded parking space for 747.

By noon we were off to Laoag and Pagudpud.

The views were simply fantastic going to Laoag.  The long shorelines of white sands as you make it through the ups and downs of the hills made the long journey seem not that far. No one was complaining that we were on the road for almost 8 hours top. The excitement was building up to it’s climax as we approach each bend. And finally PAGUDPUD. We have made it to our final destination.  It was now time to start the party!
