DESPEDIDA 2004
An affair befitting a QUEEN
April30 – May 2, 2004.
After all the postponements that had happened in the past, it took the despedida of Her Highness, Fe Valenzuela Cruz, to finally make it happen. The dates were set and arrangements have been made and the group headed up north to Ilocos Sur to give Fe the send-off she truly deserves.
Pre-Departure.
The original casts of characters consisted of Fe, Sylvia and Rolly, Yolly, Erna + 4, Tong +3, Bodeng , Tato, Abet, Rey, Joey +1. The group provided for a Van and a Land Cruiser to take us there. But unfortunately Yolly backed out as well as Erna and her family so we eventually ended up using just the 14-seater MB Van....the airbus we fondly called the 747.
Day 1.
Tato did not make it at the departure area because of some‘pressing’ commitments. Promptly leaving at 4:30 am from the SM North Edsa, the group headed for the North Luzon Expressway towards BAGUIO for some breakfast and sightseeing.
Coming down from the mountains, the 747 breezed through the winding roads as if there was no tomorrow. In no time, we were in Luna, La Union unpacking our bags and getting ready for our first night. Rey , our personal chef, was preparing all the ingredients for what we called a sumptuous dinner. Adobo Galore ! With all fresh Baguio veggies that would make anybody’s mouth watery.
